Song of the Week
Bible Verse and Reflection
John 16:24 - Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
In this verse Jesus is speaking to you. There is Joy to be had through knowing him. Here are some steps to respond to what this verse is saying:
Who are you in this verse? Someone who has never come to God, someone who knows him or someone who has prayed once or twice?
What do you want to ask God for? Is there a difficulty you are facing, or do you just want to know if he is there?
Pray to God. Use the tool below to help you.
How to Pray
"God I want to have joy in my life. I ask for joy in my situation and I ask that you will help me to know that you are there and that you care about me."
Daily Dose of Joy
When you are feeling down and the situations in your life are overwhelming you can still find joy in the little things. Here are some ways of finding some joy in your day:
Phone a friend. When we can’t see people physically it’s so good to have that conversation, to remind each other that we are all in this together.
Have a movie marathon. Enjoy getting stuck into those films that you love. Get some popcorn, put your onesie on and snuggle on the sofa for some relaxing film time.
Try a new recipe. I recently made homemade pizza and it was so easy and so yummy. You can even get your kids involved!
Host an online games night with friends or family. It can be a good laugh and bring joy to your day.
Take up a new hobby, knitting, scrapbooking, baking, gardening. Having the time to do these things can be a happiness boost!
Have a home spa day/night. Put on some candles, have a facemask, paint your nails. Relax
Journal Tip of the Week
Write down your goals and/or dreams. It’s always good to get them down on paper so you can have them to remind you where you want to go and what you want to do. If you don’t know where to start, start small with somewhere you’ve always wanted to visit.
