Bible Verse and Reflection

The Story of Mary and Martha - Luke chapter 10 verses 38 to 42

"As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” "

Craft - Flower Petal Candle Holders

Here is a fun craft for you to try out. You can relax by putting the lovely candle holders you’ve made around the house! Enjoy

  1. Collect flower petals from your garden or wildflowers in the park.

  2. Make the petals nice and flat by placing them in between the pages of a book for a few hours or overnight.

  3. Cover your jar with a thin layer of PVA glue. Just as the glue is drying stick the flower petals onto the jar and cover them over with glue to smooth them out.

  4. Let it dry, pop a tealight candle or electric candle in and you have a beautiful candle holder.

Journal Tip

You can write in your journal today about what makes you busy and what makes you relax. When you’ve had a busy day you can always use some of the things you’ve written down in the relax column to help you wind down :)
