Bible Verse and Reflection
Isaiah 43:18-19 - “Forget the former things; do not dwell in the past. See I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
God is speaking to us through this verse about doing something new in our lives. Here are some questions to ask yourself:
1. Have you been dwelling in the past? What makes you excited about the future?
2. What changes would you like to see in your life? Make a list and ask God to help you make these changes.
3. You can use the words below to help you pray about your 'New Horizons'
How to Pray
"God I pray that you would help me get excited about the future and the positive changes I can make in my life. I pray that you would give me the courage to step into something new."
Something New
What does it look like to try something new? Well here are some tips that you may find useful to help you discover some of your own 'New Horizons'
Have you ever tried planting tomatoes or other fruit/Veg in your garden? You may discover it's a lovely way to enjoy the sun and eat what you've grown
Write down some things you are passionate about. It may be doing nail art, designing bags or learning a language. Maybe start to work through that list, giving it a go!
Take up a new sport. It could be fun to try out aqua aerobics at your local pool.
Do you like cooking or baking? Challenge yourself to doing a new recipe every day for 30 days. You could discover you LOVE it.
Journal Tip
Record your journey of discovering something new. How did it go? Did you enjoy it? Would you carry on or move onto something else?
